it was arguably their weakest lp, yet it gave us one their finest moments ever! It was 13 years after I heard them for the 1st time, and then I thought it was stylish and slick but the spirit had gone; now, almost 20 years after this, this song has become like the finest Port in the world. Highly addictive stuff! Kisses from Portugal, from the Staircase Brigade and from the Port cellars by the river Douro! |

The way she slips that subtle little porno-moan in at :03 lets you know right away you're in for something today's radio people don't want you to hear. God I miss this band. |

@TheMariiiiiiiiiiiana Beauty is a matter of opinion. She looked gorgeous as a punk and gorgeous here. If you didn't grow up with punk it's hard to explain. She is an iconic figure. |

No American artist could write a song with such haunting lyrics. Aside from the kick-ass Red Hot Chili Peppers, there are really no other US bands I want to blast from my car. The Cure, Smiths, Joy Divisioin, Oasis, and Sioxsie - their lyircs are a couple of quanta leaps above US groups. Maybe it's becuse of the eudcational system, who knows. By the way, Siouxsie look stunning in this video... |

After almost 20 years, I still consider this song as one of the best ever!
Can you explain me why Sue, even as a post punk, always intended to look so ugly?
Plus, with 19 at the time, she seemed to me like 50.
I realise now that she was in is thirties and glamorous!
Thank you! |

@Nimno74 I did not assume those bands were influenced by them, THEY HAVE ALL SAID THEY WERE INFLUENCE BY THEM and I chose those because everyone else who were replying were listing bands thats weren't female fronted ! I was just being helpful and suggesting them ! AND IT IS MUSIC INFLUENCED BY MUSIC ! If you want "chic" influenced by "chic" then look at Lady Gaga and Madonna ! Tell me, do you enjoy winding up 18 year old girls ? Honestly...what is the point in this dumb argument... |

Nimno74
@StrummerLivesxxx I missed the guy asking for influenced. sorry. But to only list female bands seems a touch on the cliche side. And to assume that those bands were influenced by her and her band seems equally sexist... I mean, c'mon. PJ..YYYeahs . they have much more to offer as far as influences aside from the sharing of all having vaginas. Not lookin' for a troll fight, just sayin',..give him something he didn't ask for.. like music influenced by music, not this chic influenced this chic |

@Nimno74 Right. Well I don't know what you mean by saying I'm "detracting from the original", it sounds daft tbh. And I know those bands have other influences apart from Siouxsie. A guy just wanted to know which bands the Banshees had an influence on and I was just one of the many people who replied suggesting those bands, because those are all female and cite Siouxsie as one of their influences on their work. Do you have a problem with that ? |
08/13/2010 - 14:12:09 |
|
Nimno74
@StrummerLivesxxx No offence meant, just saying that when you site those influenced (possibly), you detract from the original. Besides, those gals have influences far greater in their music than Sioux. |

@Nimno74 What you on about ? I'm not trashing anything :S I was just saying they're some bands who cite Siouxsie as an influence. I love them just as much, for different reasons. |

Nimno74
@StrummerLivesxxx the inane reflex to trash one thing, simply because something preceded it.... foolish. Yeah yeah yeahs are great, so was Siouxsie.... let them each have their thing... we all have our influences, |

Slt à tous / Hi guys,
Cette chanson m'a fait acheter l'album "Superstition", ensuite j'ai beaucoup écouté de Siouxsie / This song has made me bought "Superstition", then i've listened a lot of Siouxsie's songs.
Mais jamais vus en concert, malheureusement / Never seen them on stage, unfortunately.
Cette chanson n'a pas pris une ride (pourtant c'était en 91 !) / This song doesn't get old (even if it was in '91).
Slt les Siouxsiens ! / Bye the "Siouxsiens".
